We traveled through nine states, including Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, and Oklahoma. It was a difficult journey, not only because of the long distance but also due to the immeasurable losses. Many of our tribes, such as Cherokee, Creek, Chickasaw, Choctaw, and Seminole, were forced along these routes with no other choice but to go.
Important detachment points, such as Ross’s Landing and Vann’s Plantation, were places where we stopped to rest and prepare for the longer journey ahead. Routes like the Northern Route, Benge Route, and Water Routes are all associated with sorrowful memories, with steps full of exhaustion and pain.
Imagine being forced to leave your home, leaving behind everything that is most familiar to you, the memories and love of your ancestors. You are compelled to walk hundreds of miles, through blizzards, biting cold, with no food or water. The road ahead is not a new hope, but a journey filled with pain and death.
On that road, our elders, women, and children faced unimaginable suffering. They witnessed their loved ones fall every day, yet they could do nothing to help. Each step on the Trail of Tears brought them closer to death, as disease, hunger, and exhaustion slowly claimed their lives.
The Trail of Tears was not just a migration. It was a brutal act by the invaders, aimed at erasing our culture, silencing the voices, stories, and dreams of thousands of innocent Native people. It was a betrayal, not only to the souls that have passed but also to the future of all of us—those who have fought and continue to fight to preserve what remains.
Hello, I’m Layla Blackwood, a descendant of the Cherokee people. Growing up, I heard the painful stories of the Trail of Tears from my grandpa. These stories are not just history; they are an inseparable part of our identity. And I understand that to keep these memories alive, we must retell these stories—not just for ourselves, but for our children and future generations.
When I began this journey, I faced many challenges. How could I create a t-shirt that wasn’t just beautiful, but also deeply meaningful? I searched for the highest quality materials to ensure the product would be the best it could be. But the hardest part was how to design something simple yet powerful enough to convey the message I wanted to share.
To truly understand and transform this quote into a design,“Trail Of Tears: Where thousands of Native voices were silenced forever,” I spent months meticulously researching the history of the Trail of Tears—not just of the Cherokee, but also of the Creek, Seminole, Chickasaw, and Choctaw tribes. I read every available resource—history books, archived documents, and even little-known memoirs. I watched documentaries and interviews with the descendants of survivors.
Through every page, every film, every story, I felt the pain, resilience, and indomitable spirit of our ancestors. That’s why this quote isn’t just a permanent reminder of the pain they endured; it’s also a symbol of their strength and survival. This became the heart of the design, ensuring that this t-shirt would carry the deep meaning and power of our history.

The Trail of Tears was the forced relocation of Native American tribes, particularly the Cherokee, from their homelands in the southeastern U.S. to Oklahoma in the 1830s. The journey was brutal and deadly—about 15,000 Cherokee people were forced to march over 1,000 miles, with inadequate food, shelter, and medical care. Thousands died from disease and exhaustion along the way. The event is remembered as a tragic chapter in American history, symbolizing the immense suffering and loss endured by Native Americans.

Similarly, your Decal and Handmade items will be dispatched together from the same production location.
However, it's important to note that if you make a purchase of products from different categories (e.g., a T-shirt and a Decal), they will be shipped separately, resulting in two shipments. Each shipment will include the relevant tracking information to keep you informed about their progress.
We understand that receiving separate packages at different times may be unexpected, and we apologize for any inconvenience this might cause.
RISK FREE SHIPPING
If for whatever reason your goods don't arrive within 60 days, you will be refunded in FULL for that item. This is our promise to you! If there's a missing order, please let us know via support@welcomenativespirt.com. We'll investigate (it usually took 3-5 business days) and send you another one after we got a conclusion.

Since each item is custom made for every customer, Welcomenativespirit does not offer returns/exchanges for preference-based reasons. That said, your satisfaction is our priority. Replacement timeline: same as a standard order, including 2 business days for processing and 2–5 days for shipping. There is no replacement/reshipment fee in the cases above.
Refunds: will be processed as soon as your request is verified. Funds typically return to your original payment method within 3–5 business days, depending on your bank.
To protect every customer’s interests and keep the process clear and fair, we’re unable to offer refunds or replacements in the following situations (as they are outside of our control or are not caused by our error):
- Customer selected the wrong size: Please review the size chart carefully before ordering. If you need sizing help, we’re happy to assist before purchase.
- Package is missing/undeliverable due to an incorrect shipping address provided by the customer: Please double-check your address details (especially street number and ZIP code) to avoid delivery issues.

- Order or address changes requested after the item has been printed and handed to the carrier: Once production and shipping are in motion, we’re unable to make changes, and we cannot offer refunds/replacements for change requests.
- Item returned without contacting us first: To avoid lost packages and ensure proper handling, please contact us before sending anything back. Unannounced returns will not be processed.

1) ORDER EDITS OR CANCELLATION
To protect your interests and minimize errors during production, you may request an order change or cancellation within 5 hours of placing your order.
After this time, or once your order has moved into production, the system can no longer modify the order details.
2) DAMAGED ITEM / POOR PRINT QUALITY / WRONG ITEM RECEIVED
At Welcomenativespirit Store, we work hard to maintain quality control and ensure accurate packing. However, if you unfortunately receive an item that is:
- Damaged
- Printed with poor quality
- Or different from what you ordered
we will prioritize resolving the issue to protect your rights as a customer.
For the fastest and most accurate support, please email support@welcomenativespirit.com with:
- Your order number
- Clear photos or a video showing the issue (the damaged area / incorrect details)
- A photo of the QR code label on the package you received
After review, our support team will arrange a replacement reprint or a refund, depending on what best fits your case.

3) ORDER NOT RECEIVED
If your order has not been delivered within 20 days (US orders) or 30 days (international orders) from the order date (not including 1–5 business days for processing), please contact us.
We will investigate with the shipping carrier and provide a full refund if the shipment is confirmed to have an issue.
Note: This policy does not apply if the customer provided an incorrect address or missed the delivery, causing the shipment to fail.
4) PACKAGE LOST / RETURNED DUE TO AN INCORRECT ADDRESS PROVIDED BY THE CUSTOMER
To avoid delivery issues, please double-check your shipping address carefully (especially your street number, street name, and ZIP code) before placing your order.
- If a package is lost due to an incorrect address provided by the customer, we cannot offer a free refund or free reshipment, as this situation is outside of our control. However, we will still assist you in contacting the carrier, and we may offer to reship a new order with a supported/discounted reshipment fee, depending on the case.
- If tracking shows the package was returned to the sender (incorrect address, failed delivery because no one was available, or the package was not picked up in time), we may consider sending a replacement, but refunds are not available in this situation.
